Job summary

VoltaGrid is seeking a Field Safety Manager in San Antonio, TX, responsible for onsite health, safety, and environmental support during construction and operations of a large microgrid project. This role leads safety culture, conducts audits, and ensures compliance with OSHA standards throughout project phases.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in HSSEQ management and a Bachelor’s in a safety-related field, with CSP or CHST being highly desirable.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in HSSEQ management systems or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and 1910 standards.
Professional certification such as CSP or CHST is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Establish positive safety culture for the project site.
Develop safety performance metrics and key targets for the project.
Provide guidance for safety efforts during construction, coordinating with contractors and vendors.
Review and approve safety plans, JHAs, and contractor safety programs.
Conduct site inspections and audits for compliance with OSHA and local regulations.
Facilitate safety briefings, toolbox talks, and emergency drills.
Document and report incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
Lead root cause analyses and corrective/preventive actions.
Develop and maintain operational safety programs aligned with OSHA standards.
Train personnel in hazard recognition and safe work practices.
