Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking a Safety Specialist II to support field deployment of the Site Specific Safety Plan and assist the Project Safety Manager with safety compliance across multiple locations in the Power market.

You will verify work execution, solve field safety issues, and provide resources to maintain safe, compliant operations while coordinating with operations and craft teams. Candidates should hold OSHA certifications and be willing to relocate as needed.

Qualifications

• The ability to travel and relocate as required.
• OSHA 30, 500 and 510 certifications.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of construction safety and current Federal/OSHA requirements.
• Certification as Safety Professional or EMT is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to access all points of a construction site in varied environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, review, updating, and communication of the SSSP to everyone including subcontractors.
• Collaborate with the craft daily to promote buy-in of the safety program.
• Exercise Stop Work Responsibility to ensure adherence to policies and plans.
• Plan, prioritize, and problem-solve with operations based on trends and upcoming work.
• Encourage and advise staff to execute the SSSP.
• Maintain project files in OSHA/MSHA compliance and with company policies.
• Assist with first aid and maintain relationships with EMS and clinics.
• Assist with KieTrac entry, incident investigations, and effective solutions.
• Complete daily hazard inspections and aid in corrective actions.
• Review work plans and packs prior to start of work.
• Provide safety training on policies, OSHA/MSHA, NCCER, SIMS, orientation and client requirements.
