Job summary

Kiewit invites energetic students to join as Safety Interns on infrastructure projects across North America. You’ll learn by supporting the Project Safety Program, helping to develop site policies, monitor activities, and participate in audits and trainings.

You should be pursuing a health and safety degree, with strong communication and organizational skills. Expect relocation to project sites and a fast-paced, safety-driven work environment.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field of study
• Knowledge of construction safety and current Federal and OSHA requirements
• Working knowledge of computers; experience with Word and Excel
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good attention to detail and ability to spot discrepancies
• Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes
• Ability to work with all levels of the organization and travel as required

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring project activities for safety compliance with regulations and policies
• Help develop and implement site safety policies and procedures
• Assist in safety program audits, coaching, and on-site training
• Support reporting and metrics tracking for performance issues
