Job summary

The AES Corporation in Arlington, VA seeks a Robotics Validation & Release Engineer to lead end-to-end validation and release of Maximo software for solar module installation robots. You will define test plans, execute across simulation to field operations, and ensure performance, safety, and reliability before production deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or related field.
• 6+ years of work experience in robotics systems and releases ownership for embedded/real-time components.

Responsibilities

• Define validation strategy and test coverage for unit to endurance testing.
• Own software release process end-to-end from planning to deployment and post-release verification.
• Build and maintain a release readiness framework with entry/exit criteria and sign-offs.
• Develop CI pipelines and automated regression suites; ensure results are visible and trusted.
• Coordinate system-level verification across simulation, HIL, lab rigs, and field test robots.
• Establish performance benchmarks and acceptance thresholds for accuracy, latency, stability, uptime, safety.
• Translate product requirements into testable acceptance criteria and validation plans.
• Own release documentation including release notes, known issues, and deployment playbooks.
• Ensure safe deployment practices aligned with safety standards in the field.
