Job summary

1X is seeking a senior Test & Validation Engineering Leader to guide the Test & Validation team and directly handle high‑stakes robot‑level validation challenges. You will turn objectives into robust test strategies, develop complete‑robot tests, and establish repeatable methods for task/load characterization and data collection.

You will own planning of lab assets, drive program visibility, and collaborate with design and reliability teams to ensure rigorous, data‑driven validation across R&D

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering.
• 5+ years in Test & Validation or related hardware disciplines.
• Proven leadership of Test and Validation engineers across complex projects.
• Experience testing robotic or electromechanical systems at robot level.
• Hands-on with test equipment: data acquisition, environmental chambers, vibration, HALT, actuators and dynos.
• Strong planning, data collection, analysis, and technical reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Test & Validation Engineering team with technical direction.
• Translate objectives into robust test strategies and complete‑robot tests.
• Drive task/load characterization, durability testing, instrumentation, and data collection.
• Set and maintain standards for test design, execution, and reporting.
• Provide visibility into risks, results, and program readiness to leadership.
• Oversee lab assets, budgeting, procurement, and equipment readiness.
