Job summary

Bonsai Robotics is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to be the first line of defense for customer-facing issues in robotics software for agricultural tech. You will develop SOPs, resolve bugs, and guide customer experience across ROS2, C++, and Python.

You will travel to customer sites for complex deployments, document issues, and collaborate with field ops and engineering to improve products and support processes.

Qualifications

• BS in related field.
• Experienced with real production robots in hands of real customers.
• Familiar with software development best practices.
• Comfortable reading/modifying Python and C++.
• Experience debugging problems outside your area of expertise.
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment.

Responsibilities

• Support and guide customers to resolve urgent issues.
• Communicate clearly with non-technical farm operators.
• Resolve and ship software fixes and updates using ROS2, C++, and Python.
• Document complex bugs and customer issues; escalate when needed.
• Evaluate logs and data from incidents and triage bugs and feature requests.
• Travel to customer sites for hard problems and high-stakes deployments.
