Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a Field Service & Deployment Engineer to lead on-site deployments and maintain autonomously operated forklift systems at customer sites. This hands-on role requires strong mechanical, electrical, and software troubleshooting, installation, calibration, and startup activities.

You will train customer operators, document field activities, and collaborate with Engineering and Support teams to improve deployment processes and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Minimum 2 years of field service, robotics, automation, or similar technical role.
• Strong troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and basic software systems.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Experience using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support on-site deployments of autonomous robotic systems, including installation, calibration, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues in real time to minimize downtime and restore system performance.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and system health checks to ensure reliable operation.
• Train customer operators and site personnel on system operation, safety procedures, and best practices.
• Document all field service activity including repairs, troubleshooting steps, photos, and site conditions for internal tracking and continuous improvement.
• Travel frequently to customer sites (up to 100%) and work independently in dynamic warehouse and industrial environments.
