Job summary

Tennant Company is seeking an Automation Success Technician in Detroit, MI. This field-based role deploys Tennant robotic solutions, trains customers, and ensures successful adoption across the customer journey.

The technician collaborates with sales, service, and customer success teams to deliver measurable value and smooth deployment. The position requires hands-on installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of robotic systems, with travel to customer sites and ongoing usage optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Robotics, Automation, Business, or related field.
• Ability to travel at least 60% for field-based work.
• 3+ years of technical or field experience with robotics, automation, or related technology.
• Experience installing, configuring, operating, troubleshooting, or supporting technical equipment.
• Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills.
• Experience using AI-enabled productivity tools to draft, summarize, or analyze information.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and support customer demonstrations, pilots, and events as the field robotics SME.
• Install and configure robotic products at customer sites and complete initial setup.
• Train customers on robot operation, maintenance, and autonomous usage.
• Help customers adopt and optimize autonomous robotics in their operations.
• Provide first-line technical support post-deployment and troubleshoot issues.
• Develop product expertise and share learnings with internal teams.
