Job summary

standardbots is seeking a customer-facing Applications Engineer in Texas to design, install, and support automation solutions around a six-axis industrial robot. The role is hands-on, field-based, with up to 50% domestic travel, blending mechanical, electrical, and software work on factory floors.

You will partner with sales to scope applications, visit sites to deploy systems, produce enablement materials, and collaborate with in-house engineering as the product roadmap expands.

Qualifications

• Hands-on background spanning electrical, software, and mechanical systems.
• Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or industrial automation environments.
• Clear communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to operate in fast-moving, ambiguous environments with a bias for delivering simple, reliable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Scope robotic solutions with sales teams as the primary technical resource.
• Travel to customer sites to install, program, and validate systems end-to-end.
• Create technical enablement materials like sample code, application notes, and white papers.
• Collaborate with in-house engineering to test, refine, and integrate new features as the product roadmap expands.
• Develop marketing collateral communicating technical value to prospective buyers and supporting go-to-market efforts.
