Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site Field Inspector to support transportation construction projects across multiple locations. You will perform inspections, review daily reports, and ensure conformity with QC plans while gaining real-world experience on active sites.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel up to 40%. Domestic and international travel may be involved, with standard field responsibilities and on-site supervision.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods, and materials under direct supervision.
• Review contractor daily reports and acceptance/rejection decisions; verify QC procedures and material testing align with the Quality Control Plan.
• Review material testing procedures and results for conformance to the contract and measure quantities placed.
• May perform sampling and in‑place testing of soil, aggregate, concrete and asphalt pavement.
