Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site Field Inspector in the Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group to support project locations nationwide. You will gain real-world experience inspecting traffic control, environmental controls, and construction methods to help ensure project success.

The role requires the ability to review contractor reports, perform material testing or sampling as needed, and communicate findings in English.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• 0 years.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on duties and project needs.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials under direct supervision.
• Review and recommend acceptance or rejection of daily contractor reports and verify quality control procedures.
• Review material testing procedures and results for conformance to contract and measure quantities of materials placed.
• May perform sampling and in-place testing of soil, aggregate base, concrete and asphalt.
