Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site inspector to support our Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group across multiple project locations in the United States. The role involves performing inspections, reviewing contractor reports, and ensuring adherence to quality control procedures.

You will read plans, interpret specifications, and apply knowledge of materials and construction methods to support project success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials, and all issues concerning the construction of a project under direct supervision.
• Determine the acceptability of the day-to-day work performed by the contractor; review daily reports; verify QC procedures and material testing conformance.
• Review material testing procedures and results for conformance to the contract and measure quantities of materials placed.
• May be required to perform sampling and/or in-place testing of soil, aggregate base, concrete, and asphalt pavement.
