Job summary

Accura Engineering is seeking a CEI Inspector to perform construction engineering and inspection for roadway, bridge, and transportation projects. You will conduct field inspections, verify materials, maintain documentation, and support project engineers throughout construction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0 18 months to 3 years of progressive transportation technician or construction inspection experience.
• Experience inspecting roadways, bridges, transportation, or heavy civil construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Knowledge of highway construction materials, methods, equipment, and inspection procedures.
• Obtain any required certifications and pass tests (GDOT Group 1 & 2).
• GDOT WECS and GDOT Field Concrete Technician Certification are preferred.
• Proficiency in mathematical calculations including geometry and trigonometry.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent inspections of roadway and bridge construction activities to ensure compliance with plans and specs.
• Inspect asphalt and concrete materials, pavement placement, compaction, alignment, depth, and overall construction quality.
• Inspect structural components and operations including foundations, excavation, piling, reinforcing steel, structural steel, concrete placement, culverts, and backfill operations.
• Monitor and inspect traffic control devices and erosion and sediment control measures.
• Conduct field measurements and calculations for pay quantities and maintain accurate contract documentation.
• Prepare reports and maintain inspection records and project activities.
• Supervise or provide directions to inspectors performing routine inspection activities.
• Participate in project meetings, field plan reviews, and project closeout activities.
• Assist with construction management duties on resurfacing, striping, safety improvements, and bridge rehab projects.
• Communicate effectively with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
