Job summary

Donegal Insurance Group is seeking an inside/desk Loss Control Consultant to provide risk management and loss control services to insured accounts. Primary focus on internal reviews and vendor surveys, with field support as needed across the Atlantic South region, traveling as required.

Ideal candidates reside in Virginia or Tennessee and can deliver training and present findings effectively. Responsibilities include risk assessments, data collection for underwriting, and maintaining

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Safety Management, or related field.
• Pursuit of professional designations (CSP, ARM, CIH, PE, CPCU, etc.) is encouraged.
• Past property/casualty insurance experience and loss control background is beneficial.
• Industry or line of coverage specialization is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily reviews of vendor and consultant risk assessments and provide clear risk factors.
• Collect objective data and supply risk information to underwriter per UW guidelines.
• Provide loss control services to reduce risk for insured accounts.
• Administer training and safety programs and present findings clearly.
• Maintain PC skills and access to Donegal systems and resources.
• Consult with underwriters to give account feedback as needed.
• Conduct field visits and on-site risk surveys when required.
• Prepare risk surveys for submission to Loss Control and Underwriting.
• Maintain professional designations as required by regulatory bodies.
• Demonstrate a professional image to insureds, agents, and underwriters.
