Job summary

LMI is seeking a Field Systems Engineer to support a DoD client in Bremerton, WA. You will design and deploy RFID, Bluetooth, and IoT solutions for defense missions worldwide, blending hands-on hardware work with system-level problem solving.

Travel up to 25–50% is required; U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain an active secret clearance are needed. Strong networking and RF expertise are essential for mission success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 3–5+ years of experience with RF, IoT, or sensor-based systems.
• Strong understanding of RFID, Bluetooth, and wireless network design.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade networking hardware (Cisco, Juniper, HP, etc.).
• Proficiency with network protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, and DHCP.
• Familiarity with CLI configuration and Linux-based systems; shell scripting a plus.
• Deep understanding of RF testing tools and diagnostics.
• Ability to translate mission requirements into reliable, field-deployable technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy RFID, Bluetooth, and IoT solutions for logistics and asset tracking.
• Plan and implement hardware, infrastructure, and installation configurations for facilities.
• Analyze and optimize communication protocols for bandwidth, latency, and payloads.
• Develop and refine wireless communication methods to improve logistics efficiency.
• Identify and mitigate interference in complex environments.
• Apply RF engineering principles to maximize system performance.
• Support troubleshooting, optimization, and sustainment for deployed systems.
• Develop and execute test and qualification procedures for wireless and IoT systems.
• Travel up to 25–50% for installations, testing, and on-site work.
