Job summary

LMI in Bremerton, WA seeks an experienced Field Systems Engineer (RF/IoT) to design, deploy, and support RFID, Bluetooth, and IoT solutions for DoD missions. You will work at the intersection of hardware, networking, and data, delivering field-ready sensing, tracking, and logistics capabilities while traveling to installations and test sites.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, able to obtain an active secret clearance, and hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 3–5+ years of RF/IoT or sensor-based systems experience.
• Strong RFID, Bluetooth, and wireless network design knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise networking hardware (Cisco, Juniper, HP).
• Proficiency with TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, and DHCP.
• CLI and Linux-based systems experience; shell scripting a plus.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain an active secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy wireless data collection and communication systems meeting operational constraints.
• Recommend and implement hardware, infrastructure, and installation configurations.
• Analyze and tune communication protocols for bandwidth, latency, and payload needs.
• Develop wireless methods to improve logistics efficiency.
• Identify and mitigate interference or signal degradation in complex environments.
• Apply RF engineering principles to maximize system performance.
• Support troubleshooting, sustainment for deployed systems in the field.
• Develop and execute test procedures for wireless and IoT systems.
• Travel up to 25–50% to support installations and on-site engineering.
