Job summary

Guidehealth seeks a retinal imaging specialist to perform diabetic eye exams in provider practices across the Nashville area. The role requires travel to sites, a valid driver's license, and comfort with daily field work, with full training provided.

Eligible candidates will have healthcare experience, strong communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office apps; remote work flexibility is supported by company policies and expectations.

Qualifications

  • Willingness and ability to travel daily, up to 100%, to provider practices to perform scheduled eye exams; no prior eye exam or imaging experience required, as full training and equipment are provided by the company.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Associate degree or greater in a related field.
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, quality measures, medical billing, or coding.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, and multiple healthcare-related systems or applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet hard deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with management, co-workers, customers, providers, payers, and care teams.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Certified or licensed healthcare professional credential, such as CMA or LPN.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to provider practices and patient homes for scheduled eye exam appointments.
  • Engage virtually with team members, internal partners, customers, providers, payers, and care teams on non-appointment days.
  • Perform diabetic eye exams using company-provided imaging equipment and support the closure of eye exam and quality gaps.
  • Complete company training on retinal imaging equipment and procedures; maintain competency through ongoing training.
  • Manage daily eye exam appointment schedule; coordinate travel logistics; all mileage and travel expenses are covered.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with coworkers, customers, providers, payers, and care teams.
  • Perform other duties to support quality improvement, reporting, patient outreach, and customer success.
