Job summary

AdaptHealth, LLC seeks a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. This field clinician role combines hands-on patient care, education, and collaboration with physicians to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes outside the hospital.

Major responsibilities include ventilator management, assessments, discharge planning, and staff education, with travel between field and in-office locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program.
• One year of clinical experience with ventilator exposure.
• Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states served by the branch.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of ventilators and related equipment.
• Perform clinical assessments and communicate findings to physicians and referral sources.
• Assist in discharge planning for ventilator-dependent patients and transitions to home.
• Instruct patients and caregivers on vent units, supplies and equipment use.
• Document all patient care activities accurately and timely.
