Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Resident Engineer to join our Construction Engineering & Inspection team in Maine. You\'ll lead inspection activities for bridge and highway projects, coordinate documentation, and ensure work complies with plans and specifications.

The role requires 6+ years in construction engineering/inspection, a 10-hour OSHA certificate, a valid US driver\'s license, and the ability to read and communicate in English.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
• 6+ years of construction engineering/inspection experience required.
• 10-hour OSHA certification required.
• Valid US driver\'s license required.
• Experience with MaineDOT or municipal projects as a Resident Engineer is a plus.
• Knowledge of MaineDOT Standard Specifications is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for communications.

Responsibilities

• Lead inspectors or act as a solo inspector for construction inspection of bridge/highway projects, including measuring quantities and documenting work with daily reports, photos, and sketches.
• Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection (pay estimates, change orders, daily reports, quantity checks, meeting minutes, material certifications, etc.).
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with specifications.
• Apply project plans, company policies, standards, and specifications to the work and make decisive decisions.
• Maintain project documentation and communicate with all levels on the project.
• Coordinate activities on the project site and resolve problems.
• Lead other construction inspectors; provide coaching, mentoring, and direction as needed.
