Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Resident Engineer to join our Construction Engineering & Inspection team in New Jersey. You will lead inspectors, manage documentation, and ensure work aligns with plans for bridge and highway projects.

Candidates may be located near Mays Landing or Mt. Laurel. This on-site role offers opportunities to impact public infrastructure and grow within a collaborative field-focused team.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of construction engineering/inspection experience.
• 10-hour OSHA certification.
• Valid US driver's license.
• Leadership, decision making, and attention to detail.
• Previous experience working with NJDOT and/or municipal clients as a Resident Engineer.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for job communications.

Responsibilities

• Lead inspectors or act as a solo inspector for construction inspection of bridge/highway projects, including measurements and documenting work with reports, photos, and sketches.
• Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection including pay estimates, change orders, daily work reports, quantity checking, meeting minutes, material certifications, etc.
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with specifications.
• Apply project plans, policies, standards, and make decisive decisions.
• Maintain project documentation and communicate with all levels of the project.
• Coordinate activities on the project site and resolve on-site issues.
• Lead other construction inspectors, providing coaching and direction.
