Job summary

The State of Florida seeks a Regulatory Analyst III (Workers’ Compensation Investigator) in Fort Myers to conduct investigations ensuring employer compliance with workers’ compensation coverage requirements. Candidates should have at least four years of investigative or regulatory experience or a post-secondary degree substituting for experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of data collection, analysis and data interpretation; how to conduct an interview; problem solving and fact finding investigations.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing stairs and walking on uneven grounds in various outdoor weather conditions.
• Prepare and maintain reports; use keyboard input devices; operate a motor vehicle and hold a valid Florida driver license.
• Experience with on-site inspections and complex investigations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections and investigations to determine employer compliance with workers’ compensation requirements.
• Issue and enforce stop-work orders and penalty assessment orders under Florida statutes.
• Create and maintain investigative case files and enter data in CCAS.
• Educate employers about rights, responsibilities and obligations under the workers’ compensation law.
