Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to bridge business needs with AI-enabled technical solutions at Arlington, TX. You will prototype rapidly, connect data and APIs, and drive production-ready patterns alongside business and technology teams.

The role requires 5+ years in software/AI engineering, strong Python and TypeScript/JavaScript skills, and proven capability to communicate across business users and technical teams. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering, AI engineering, solutions engineering, data engineering, or comparable experience.
• Strong Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript skills with API/AI solution experience.
• Practical experience with LLMs, RAG, agents, tool and MCP integration, prompt engineering, evaluation, document AI and unstructured data.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with business users.

Responsibilities

• Embed with business and field teams to understand workflows, decisions, data, and outcomes.
• Rapidly prototype and productionize AI-enabled applications, agents, copilots, APIs, and automations.
• Connect data, models, APIs, and capabilities into end-user solutions.
• Collaborate with Product to define MVP scope and with Architecture, Platform, Governance, and Security for scalable solutions.
• Travel overnight as required and translate lessons into reusable patterns.
• Stay current on data, AI, and industry practices to create business value.
