Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Quality Manager I responsible for overseeing the on-site quality control program for a single project. You will maintain the ITP, schedule and witness tests, and manage NCRs from opening to close, reporting to the superintendent and engineer of record.

The role prepares you to advance to higher QC management, with sponsored training through the USACE and ICC/NICET pathways. Expect long days aligned with major placements and travel between sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in construction materials testing, special inspection, or contractor QC.
• At least one of: ACI Grade I, NICET Level II, ICC special inspector, or USACE CQM-C certificate (we sponsor CQM-C).
• Able to read specifications and drawings and turn them into a test schedule.
• Direct, organized, and comfortable telling a superintendent that a lift does not pass.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the project inspection and test plan (ITP) and the testing frequency log against the specifications.
• Schedule and witness field and laboratory tests.
• Verify certifications of the technicians performing tests.
• Write the daily quality control report and the three-phase meeting records (preparatory, initial, follow-up).
• Open, track, and close nonconformance reports with the superintendent and the engineer of record.
