Job summary

tms seeks a Field Quality Manager to execute the field quality strategy, ensuring packaging protection, performance and functionality across the field. You will spend significant time in the field building relationships with customers, using HAVI protocol to address issues and support product launches.

Responsibilities include field communications, project alliances, extensive travel, and serving as the packaging quality go-to for McDonald’s Field Team and restaurants.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in packaging.
  • Minimum 5 years in food packaging or quality assurance.
  • Broad technical background supporting quality initiatives.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong rapport with customers and suppliers at multiple levels, managing QA communications in the field.
  • Support packaging innovation concepts and Project Alliance initiatives.
  • Domestic travel up to 75% and overnight stays as needed.
  • Conduct field surveys of finished product in restaurants to ensure conformance to standards.
  • Report survey results to a central data management system using mobile devices.
  • Maintain primary communications link for QA issues with McDonald's Field Team and restaurants.
  • Identify key partners to strengthen HAVI/McDonald’s partnership.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Field Quality Manger will be responsible for executing the tms field quality strategy- ensuring that packaging provides the required level of protection, performance and functionality to meet consumer demands. This individual will spend the majority of time in the field communicating, interacting and building strong relationships with customers at many levels to learn their business and structure and apply packaging quality expertise. Excellent communication skills, relationship-management skills and organizational skills are essential. Individual will assess packaging performance, react to packaging issues using HAVI protocol and assist with new product launches

Responsibilities:

  • Build strong rapport with new and existing customers and suppliers at multiple levels and manage quality-related communications with them in the field
  • Support packaging innovation concepts activities and Project Alliance initiatives
  • Domestic travel including local and/or overnight up to 75%
  • Perform field surveys of finished product in the restaurants throughout assigned division to ensure all products conform to predetermined standards and specifications.
  • Report survey results to a central data management system through a variety of technologies and mobile devices.
  • Establish and grow relationships with partners (owner/operators, regional staff and relevant partners) and be the primary communication link for QA issues for McDonald's Field Team and restaurants.
  • Identify key partners and influencers and leverage those relationships to improve the HAVI/McD partnership.
  • Attend strategic customer meetings within assigned division (ROAs, co-op meetings, etc.)
  • Become our customer's quality resource for assigned division; be a true packaging "go-to".
  • Investigate special situations and assist with product recoveries when necessary
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging or related field, or
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience
  • 5 years of experience in packaging
  • 5 years of food packaging or quality assurance experience
  • Broad technical background
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Field Quality experience
  • Business travel experience
  • Ability to work remotely and independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Effective and professional communication/relationship-management skills
  • Excellent time-management skills, including travel
  • Solid statistical/mathematical skills
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement techniques
  • Process/technical knowledge
  • Positive approach to solving challenges of the business and overcoming obstacles
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in an efficient manner

Starting salary between $108,750 - $115,
