Job summary

ECS Mid-Atlantic, LLC is seeking Building Science + Infrastructure Technicians to perform on-site field tests and observations across projects. You will participate in testing for new construction and built environments, work with project teams, and document findings in clear reports.

The role requires lifting up to 40 pounds, standing for long periods, and working outdoors in varied weather. A driver’s license is required if driving for ECS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate/technical degree preferred.
• 0-2 years of related experience.
• Professional certifications preferred (NRCA, IIBEC, AWCI EIFS Inspector, ICC)
• Valid driver’s license if driving for ECS.
• Ability to lift at least 40 lbs, stand for extended periods and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Building Science + Infrastructure Technicians perform routine field tests and observations on projects as assigned.
• Test and observe for new construction, building enclosure consulting, forensic investigations and related services.
• Perform field and laboratory testing and observations.
• Communicate daily with ECS technicians, project managers, principals, clients and site representatives.
• Attend project meetings with ECS senior staff and/or clients.
• Document test results and observations in reports.
• Calibrate and use field equipment; assist with maintenance and organization of equipment.
• Notify supervisor of broken or missing equipment.
• May perform incidental office or lab tasks as needed.
• Other duties as requested.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Associate or technical degree in civil engineering, architectural engineering or related field

US Military rank E-4 (qualifying)
