Job summary

South32 is seeking a Specialist Quality Assurance to support construction activities at the Hermosa Project site near Patagonia, Arizona. You will manage QA/QC for underground development, review contractor quality systems, develop ITPs and ensure regulatory compliance while coordinating with field teams.

This permanent full-time role requires strong field leadership, ability to read drawings, and a collaborative approach to driving quality excellence and safety with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of QA/QC experience on large-scale mining and/or construction projects.
• Technical Degree in Construction Management or related field, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC principles and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Assure code and procedural compliance for construction activities.
• Review contractors' Quality Management Systems and perform audits.
• Develop Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for work packages.
• Inspect and report on construction activities and vendor materials.
• Assist contractors with corrective actions for NCRs.
• Identify contractor performance issues and coordinate resolution.
• Review construction designs and schedules for quality compliance.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Mentor QA/QC technicians and provide guidance.
