Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a field-based Property Claim Adjuster to handle homeowner claims in the Winston-Salem/Greensboro area. You will spend 80% in the field, with a company fleet vehicle available for use and occasional office travel for meetings and training. Excellent customer interaction and strong claim-handling skills are required.

Relocation support is offered where eligible. The role requires valid licenses, travel up to 50% and potential catastrophe duty.

Qualifications

• Experience handling 1st and 3rd party homeowner claims across multiple policy types.
• Ability to interpret policies and endorsements and apply them to assigned losses.
• Proven ability to communicate with insureds, claimants, attorneys and other parties.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of claims by contacting insureds and relevant parties.
• Handles 1st and 3rd party claims and negotiates settlements.
• Conducts on-site inspections and evaluates damages.
