Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a Field Property Claims Adjuster to handle homeowner property claims in the Conyers or Covington, GA area. You will report to the Property Claim Manager and be required to travel up to 50% with a company fleet vehicle provided.

This role demands on-site inspections, evaluating damages, negotiating settlements, and interpreting policies across multiple endorsements. Local licensing and a valid driver’s license are essential, with relocation support offered for

Qualifications

• Experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across territories.
• Solid knowledge of casualty coverages and claim handling process.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record; property claims licensing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of claims by contacting parties including insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, SIU, other adjusters, etc.
• Identifies complex issues and seeks assistance as needed; handles claims on a good faith basis.
• Handles both 1st party and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements.
• Conducts on-site inspections, evaluates damages, and negotiates settlements with insureds, claimants, attorneys, public adjusters.
• Responds to customer inquiries, makes decisions and closes files as needed.
• Interprets policies, leases, by-laws, declarations, articles and contract coverages and applies to losses.
• Proactively provides claim process and status to all parties; routes inquiries as needed.
• May be required to complete other assignments or participate in projects based on skills and experience.
