Job summary

AFICS, Inc. (American Family Insurance Claims Services) is seeking a Field Claims adjuster to manage homeowner property claims in the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids area. You will work 80% of the time in the field and may travel to office locations for meetings and training.

A company fleet vehicle is provided, with optional personal use. Responsibilities include on-site inspections, evaluating damages, and negotiating settlements with insureds and claimants.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering customer-focused solutions in claims.
• Handling multi-line 1st and 3rd party claims across territories.
• Experience with moderately complex claims.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of claims by contacting insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, SIU, other adjusters.
• Identifies complex issues and seeks assistance as needed; handles claims in good faith.
• Handles both 1st party and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements.
• Conducts on-site inspections, evaluates damages, and negotiates with insureds and attorneys.
• Responds to customer inquiries and closes files.
• Interprets policy provisions and applies coverages to losses.
• Keeps all parties informed on process and status of claims.
• May participate in additional assignments or projects based on skills.
