American Family Insurance is seeking a field-based Property Claims Adjuster to handle homeowner property claims in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area. You will work 80% in the field and may travel to offices for meetings and trainings.

Qualifications

• Experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across operating territories.
• Solid knowledge of casualty coverages and policy terms.
• Ability to conduct on-site inspections and negotiate settlements with insureds and others.
• Proven customer-focused problem solving and service orientation.

Responsabilités

• Investigates origin and cause of claims by contacting insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors and others.
• Identifies complex issues and seeks assistance as needed; handles claims in good faith.
• Handles both 1st party and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements.
• Conducts on-site inspections, evaluates damages, and negotiates settlements.
• Responds to customer inquiries and communicates claim process and status.
