Job summary

Erie Insurance seeks a Property Adjuster in Indiana to manage independent property claims in Vigo, Clay, or Sullivan Counties. Travel within the assigned territory is required; a company car and home-work equipment will be provided.

The selected candidate will join a program with field training and hands-on experience, starting 1/4/2027, with training in Erie, PA and ongoing mentorship from supervisors. The role offers strong benefits and potential for bonus, with a national salary range shown

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Two years of claims handling experience for Property Adjuster I.
Bachelor’s Degree with two years of claims handling for Property Adjuster II or five years without a degree.
Willingness to obtain and maintain required licenses and to complete Training Center training.

Responsibilities

Conduct investigations, interviews, and inspect damage; prepare estimates and handle coverage questions.
Set and maintain reserves; review reports; direct experts; negotiate with attorneys as needed.
Document claim files and submit closure reports; manage subrogation when applicable.
Engage with agents and district sales managers on mutual concerns; support claims supervisor as needed.
Participate in Catastrophe Team and ongoing industry training.
