Job summary

FAO Sudan seeks a Field Project Specialist to support emergency and livelihood interventions at field level across Sudanese States. The role focuses on delivery, monitoring and coordination of project activities, collaborating with technical teams, implementing partners and government authorities to achieve project results and strengthen state-level coordination.

The incumbent works under supervision of the FAO Representative in Sudan with direct oversight from the Project Manager at the FAO

Qualifications

  • University degree in Agriculture, Livestock, Natural Resource Management, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in field-level project implementation, monitoring, coordination, food security and livelihoods, agriculture, livestock or related development or humanitarian activities.
  • Working knowledge of English and Arabic.
  • National of Sudan.

Responsibilities

  • Support gender assessment, baseline survey and related assessments.
  • Lead the selection process of implementing partners in consultation with FAO Khartoum staff.
  • Ensure timely delivery of project inputs to IPs as per LoAs.
  • Lead the preparation and implementation of project monitoring plans and reports.
  • Lead implementation of project monitoring tools in coordination with FAO M&E officers and Project Coordinator.
  • Liaise with other organizations providing livestock support and women empowerment in the state.
  • Prepare comprehensive evidence-based monitoring reports for completed LoAs and indicate impacts on families and communities.
  • Co-lead the FSL sector at state level and share information with authorities and FAO Khartoum.
  • Participate in inter-agency needs assessments and livelihood assessments.
  • Regularly collect, analyze and update information on agriculture, livestock, environment, markets and food security in White Nile State.
  • Perform any other work/related tasks as requested.
