Job summary

FAO Investment Centre is seeking qualified consultants for the Investment Operations Specialist role. The position involves leading and supporting investment operation design, appraisal, implementation and evaluation, with travel as required, to advance agrifood systems.

Ideal candidates hold an advanced degree and have experience in agricultural/rural investment analysis, with proficiency in English or other major UN languages. The assignment is home-based with field missions as needed.

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in economics, agricultural economics, or related field.
• At least 1 year of professional experience in agricultural/rural investment analysis or planning.
• Working knowledge (level C) of English, French or Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Lead or participate in multidisciplinary teams for investment operations and appraisals.
• Support evaluation, monitoring and reporting of investment projects.
• Advise governments and stakeholders on investment studies and strategies related to food security and rural development.
• Promote inclusive and sustainable food systems and capacity development.
• Prepare reports complying with government and partner requirements.
