Job summary

IMPACT Initiatives seeks a Senior Operations Manager for the Sudan mission to establish field presence, build strong partnerships, and lead field operations, including recruiting and training Field Officers to deliver timely, high-quality data collection.

Reporting to the Country Representative with a link to the Nairobi research units, the role requires coordination of field activities, engagement with national and international actors, and maintenance of confidential, compliant operational

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of relevant humanitarian experience.
• Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to operate in a complex security environment.
• Familiarity with Sudan or similar context and humanitarian architecture.

Responsibilities

• External engagement with national and international actors to identify collaboration opportunities.
• Plan and oversee field activities ensuring feasibility, quality, and compliance.
• Recruit, mentor and manage Field Officers and provide training.
• Provide contextual updates and coordinate with Nairobi research units and other teams.
