Job summary

IMPACT Initiatives invites applications for a Senior Operations Manager position in Sudan. The role focuses on establishing IMPACT’s field presence, building partnerships, and leading field operations to deliver high‑quality data collection.

The candidate will coordinate a small field team and ensure effective communication with IMPACT units. The ideal candidate has a strong operational background, excellent presentation and communication skills, and significant humanitarian experience.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of relevant humanitarian experience.
• Experience as Operations Manager in more than one humanitarian context with information management focus.
• Ability to operate in a complex security environment.
• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. international studies, development, humanitarian response).

Responsibilities

• External engagement: map actors and engage with partners to identify collaboration opportunities.
• Operational leadership: plan and oversee field activities, ensure feasibility and quality.
• Staff recruitment and capacity building: lead recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring of field staff.
• Contextual understanding: monitor humanitarian context changes and advise technical teams.
• Strategy: contribute to Sudan country strategy with information on operations and engagements.
• Internal coordination: coordinate with Nairobi units and other research units.
