Job Description
Position is remote and will require travel to Milwaukee, Green Bay, and Madison.
The Field Project Manager oversees our full kitchen remodel and cabinet makeover business from sale to project completion. This role requires knowledge of sales, remodeling, kitchen design, management, current industry conditions, and networking. Candidates must have technical skills, scheduling, and organizational abilities. Leadership in the bid process and project forecasting is essential. Excellent verbal, written, and facilitation skills are required, including the ability to influence, negotiate, and explain complex processes to clients and staff.
Essential Functions
- Respond promptly to sales leads provided by Home Depot.
- Schedule in-home measurements with customers.
- Apply the program sales process; identify and recommend enhancements.
- Prepare estimates of expected costs and scope of work.
- Oversee design development.
- Provide and review labor bids with customers, and submit labor bids to the store for future purchase.
- Accurately record and track sales activities.
- Manage work in the sales funnel.
- Review kitchen cabinet layouts with customers to ensure design fit.
- Establish rapport with customers and discuss all installation needs.
- Deliver ongoing value to relationships with Home Depot associates.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for kitchen installations at specific stores.
- Coordinate with sales force, acting as a liaison between customers, stores, and project managers, managing ongoing jobs.
- Perform job site visits at key milestones and as needed.
- Coordinate job scheduling based on SP availability to meet customer schedules.
- Approve SP invoices for payment, confirming negotiated pricing.
- Handle permit applications and ensure permits are posted on-site.
- Track and close open permits as required.
- Follow Lead Safe practices and file necessary paperwork.
- Update all systems with relevant notes.
- Coordinate with flooring or countertop teams if projects involve multiple product lines.
- Manage change order processes when needed.
- Procure local prime contractors and vendors.
- Conduct weekly construction progress meetings.
- Maintain, track, and report on all financial aspects of projects, including forecasts and billing.
- Communicate effectively with managers, clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and retailers.
Education & Experience
- Minimum 3 years in residential kitchen design remodeling.
- Minimum 3 years in project management.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong interpersonal skills for relationship selling and project management.
- Attention to detail in measurements, calculations, and material ordering.
- Flexible schedule including occasional weekends and evenings.
- Support sales activities and training with retailers.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of construction documentation and sequencing.
- Knowledge of value-engineering principles.
- Experience with Design Software 20/20.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Project, Excel, Word).
- Ability to travel within the assigned market.
