Job summary

Hazen & Sawyer is seeking a Construction Inspector to support water and wastewater facility construction in Roanoke, VA. The role involves on-site observation, reporting, and coordination with CM and engineering teams to ensure compliance with drawings and safety requirements.

The candidate will review submittals, track quantities, and maintain as-built records while supporting project startup and testing activities. Travel to projects in the area is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction observation experience.
• Familiarity with civil, structural, mechanical and/or electrical construction methods.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; organized and problem-solver.
• Willing to travel to projects in the area as needed.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs, and work plans for contractor compliance.
• On-site observation, monitoring, inspection, and evaluation of construction activities.
• Verify and track work per shop drawings; maintain redlines and as-builts.
• Monitor safety and contractor adherence to schedule and sequences.
• Prepare daily reports, verify quantities, and review pay applications.
