Job summary

RK&K in Virginia Beach is seeking Construction Inspectors and Engineers with water/wastewater and utility construction inspection experience to support multiple Field Engineering projects across Hampton Roads and Virginia's Middle Peninsula.

You will inspect sites, review drawings, coordinate with project teams, document field activities, and help ensure safety and quality across pipelines, treatment facilities, and related infrastructure.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; tablet-based PDF tools preferred.
VA Driver License and suitable driving record required.
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular inspections of water/wastewater, stormwater, utilities and related facilities to verify compliance with plans, codes, and safety regulations.
Provide field engineering and contract support services on site and in office.
Ensure workmanship and materials meet project specifications.
Document all inspection activities with daily reports and organized field files.
Coordinate material testing to ensure compliance with specs.
Perform field measurements for pay item documentation and contract records.
Assist in close-out activities, including punch lists and final inspection reports.
Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project teams.
