Job summary

NexGen Contracting, the self-perform arm of Gray, seeks a Traveling Project Engineer to join its In-Plant-Special-Projects Division. This entry‑level role supports safety, cost, scheduling, and procurement across project lifecycles in a fast‑paced setting.

Based in Franklin, TN with travel to sites, the role requires a degree in a related field (or 4+ years experience) and proficiency with MS Office and construction tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and CMIC. Overtime and travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or at least four years of relevant construction experience.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency with MS Office and construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, CMIC.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project safety compliance efforts.
• Support understanding and distribution of job cost information and project estimates.
• Contribute to project sequencing and scheduling efforts.
• Help track project progress and participate in production analysis.
• Assist in project cost reporting and other administrative duties.
• Support material/equipment procurement processes.
• Help manage change order requests and tracking.
• Coordinate with general contractors/owners under supervision.
