Job summary

NexGen, the self-perform arm of Gray Construction, is seeking a Traveling Project Engineer to join the Concrete Team based in Franklin, TN. This entry-level role supports the project lifecycle with hands-on learning and growth opportunities, across safety, cost, scheduling, procurement, and reporting.

You will work with experienced professionals, gain exposure to multiple trades, and contribute to on-site execution while developing your career in a dynamic, team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Construction Science, Construction Management or Engineering, or 4+ years of construction experience.
• Strong communication, both written and verbal.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
• Eagerness to learn, improve, and contribute to a team.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project safety compliance efforts.
• Support understanding and distribution of job cost information and project estimates.
• Contribute to project sequencing and scheduling efforts.
• Help track project progress and analyze production.
• Assist in project cost reporting and other administrative duties.
• Support material/equipment procurement processes.
• Help manage change order requests and tracking.
• Coordinate with general contractors and owners under supervision.
• Assist with reporting requirements, including field time and productivity, materials, safety, and other aspects.
