Job summary

Raleigh, NC-based client is seeking a Project Engineer to join the team. The role blends office work with field travel to project sites in the region, supporting submittals, RFIs, and cost tracking under senior Project Managers.

You’ll learn the business from preconstruction through closeout, with most engineers advancing to Project Manager in 18 to 24 months and extensive hands-on training in construction methods and QA/QC on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil, Structural, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent hands‑on industry experience will also be considered.
• 0 to 3 years of experience. Recent graduates with construction internships are encouraged to apply.
• Strong organization and the ability to juggle several projects at once.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• A genuine interest in building a long‑term career in project management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders
• Review plans and specifications for accuracy, constructability, and scope
• Purchase materials, track lead times, and coordinate with vendors and suppliers
• Support cost tracking, forecasting, billing, and schedule updates
• Support QA/QC on site and document field conditions
• Coordinate with general contractors, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Take part in safety walks and support a strong jobsite safety culture
• Assemble closeout packages, including O&M manuals, as-builts, and warranty documents
