Job summary

SteelFab, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer in Raleigh, NC for a full-time role.

The position starts with 6–12 months in Preconstruction within the Estimating and Preconstruction teams, then transitions to Project Management to lead projects with customers, vendors, and internal teams. Responsibilities span preconstruction pricing, bid analysis, RFI issuance, and ongoing project scheduling, procurement, and field coordination.

Qualifications

• Major: Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields.
• Preferred: Some experience in construction or engineering.
• Full-time role with 6–12 months of Preconstruction training before moving to Project Management.

Responsibilities

• Preconstruction: gather subcontractor pricing, review bids, perform material and labor take-offs, prepare pricing recaps, follow up on bids, issue RFIs.
• Project Management: update schedules, issue purchase orders and subcontracts, prepare pricing for changes, visit job sites, review design revisions, coordinate drawings and submittals, resolve field issues, supervise 4–10 active projects, learn fabrication and production processes.
