Job summary

Maryland Energy Advisors is seeking a Field Project Coordinator to support inspections and project coordination for energy efficiency programs in Maryland. The role requires traveling within the DPL service territory and engaging with customers, service providers, and internal teams to move projects from submittal to completion.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and communicative, with a background in energy programs or related fields.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent experience) in Energy, Communications, Environmental Studies, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Must reside in or around Maryland’s Eastern Shore and be able to travel regularly within the DPL service territory.

Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of utility energy efficiency programs with focus on on-site inspections and customer engagement.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to verify eligibility, measure installation quality, and ensure program compliance.
  • Serve as field-facing representative coordinating with service providers and internal teams.
  • Coordinate project intake, scheduling, documentation review, and closeout activities throughout the project life cycle.
  • Maintain organized documentation and data integrity for regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.

Field Project Coordinator

Eastern Shore – Cambridge, Salisbury, Easton, MD

Maryland Energy Advisors (MDEA) is a rapidly growing energy management firm supporting many of the region’s largest businesses, including real estate owners, restaurants, manufacturers, and other commercial and institutional partners. We also provide consulting services to utilities nationwide. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a Project Coordinator to support inspections and project coordination for our utility energy efficiency programs in Maryland.

In this role, you will be the on-the-ground representative of the program, working directly with customers, service providers, and internal teams to conduct inspections and ensure projects move efficiently from Project Submittal through completion. This position plays a critical role in customer experience, quality control, and program performance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supportthe delivery of commercial and small businesses utility energy efficiency programs with a primary focus on on-site inspections,and direct customer engagement within theDelmarva Power and Light (DPL)service territory
  • Conduct on-site inspections and verification activities to confirm projecteligibility,measure installation quality,and ensure compliance with program requirements technical specifications and quality control standards
  • Serve as primary field facing representative of the program engaging directly withservice providers and trade allies to explain program offerings,participation requirements,and next steps
  • Provideproject coordination support from application through completion, including reviewing project documentation, tracking inspection outcomes, coordinating corrective actions, and supporting closeout activities in alignment with program requirements
  • Coordinate closely with external program staff to support project intake,scheduling documentation review,and issue resolution throughout the project life cycle
  • Provide day-to-day field and operational support toparticipatingsubcontractors including clarifying program rules addressing technical or process related questions and escalating issues as needed
  • Support the onboarding and ongoing engagement of subcontractors by reinforcing program expectations,inspection standards,and documentation requirements
  • Maintain organized program documentation inspection records and tracking systems to ensure data integrity and compliance with utility regulatory and contractual requirements
  • Contribute to continuous process improvements efforts byidentifyingopportunities to enhance operational efficiencies, customer experience, inspection workflows, and quality control
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support successful program execution and organizational goals
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Energy, Communications, Environmental Studies, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered (one year of experience may substitute for one year of education).
  • This position requires the employeetoresidewithin the DPL service territory on Maryland’s Eastern shore
  • At least2yearsof professional work experience, preferably supporting energy efficiency or demand response programs, or working on consulting projects for utilities, state or local governments, or non-profit organizations.
  • Strongproficiencyin Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel regularly within the DPL service territory and complete occasional overnight travel for trainings , meetings, or program events.Must have access to a personal vehicle and the ability to use it for work-related travel; mileage reimbursement will be provided.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently in a fast-paced, field-oriented environment
  • Commitment to professionalism, sound business ethics, and the protection of confidential and proprietary information
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1–3Years of experience conducting field inspections, project coordination, or quality assurance for energy efficiency, construction, HVAC, lighting, or building performance programs
  • Post-secondary education or formal training and construction management building services HVAC electrical systems or related technical field
  • Professional certifications such as BPI, CMP, ICC, or other industry recognized credentialsarea plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technicalandprogram requirements to customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability toidentifyissues in the field and work collaboratively toward resolution
