Job summary

ASR Group seeks a Process Engineer to advance sugar refinery operations in Louisiana. The role emphasizes process optimization, efficiency improvements, and sustained reliability across aging equipment.

You will collaborate with Control Engineers, operations, maintenance, and quality teams to diagnose issues, implement practical solutions, and mentor operators while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance in a food manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. in Engineering (Chemical preferred) from an accredited college or university.
• Five years of chemical or process engineering experience desired.
• Experience in food manufacturing, refining, or continuous-process environments preferred.
• Experience developing new processes or procedures and driving sustainable improvements.
• Experience supervising or coordinating cross-functional teams is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop methods to improve existing processes through automation and new technologies.
• Optimize process controls with control engineers for efficiency and product quality.
• Troubleshoot process issues and implement practical solutions.
• Provide hands-on technical support in the field and train operators.
• Identify opportunities to increase melt throughput, recovery, and reduce losses.
• Use data, lab results, and field observations to support decisions.
• Mentor operators and newer staff to strengthen process knowledge.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Reliability, and Engineering teams.
• Manage process projects from scope development to execution.
• Perform laboratory testing and trials to support improvements.
• Provide after-hours support during startups, shutdowns, and high-priority operations.
• Adhere to safety, environmental, food safety, and regulatory procedures.
