Job summary

American Sugar Refining, part of the ASR Group, seeks a Process Engineer II to improve melt throughput, recovery, and sucrose retention at its Louisiana refinery. You will apply automation, process development, and new technologies in an aging facility.

You will partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Reliability, and Engineering teams to deliver sustainable improvements, coach operators, and lead capital projects while maintaining safety and GMP standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical preferred)
Five years of Chemical/Process Engineering experience or equivalent
Experience leading improvements in throughput, reliability, or cost
Experience coordinating capital projects across operations, maintenance, and engineering

Responsibilities

Develop methods to improve existing processes through automation and new technologies
Collaborate with Control Engineers to optimize process controls and improve quality
Provide hands-on field support and mentor operators and newer employees
Identify opportunities to increase melt throughput and improve recovery
Lead process projects from scope to execution and follow-through
