Job summary

VoltaGrid is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to manage the startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, testing, and turnover of power generation systems throughout North America. You will serve as the primary technical liaison during installation, startup, and commissioning, ensuring safe and reliable operation before turnover to Operations.

This role requires leading field activities, coordinating with technicians, project managers, and vendors, and delivering robust commissioning

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
5+ years of commissioning, startup, field engineering, or related environments.
Experience with power generation systems and industrial construction.
Ability to read electrical one-line diagrams, P&IDs, and control schematics.

Responsibilities

Lead commissioning, startup, functional testing, and operational validation at customer sites.
Verify proper installation of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and controls prior to startup.
Perform system checkout, equipment calibration, loop checks, and pre-commissioning inspections.
Execute commissioning procedures and performance testing to meet design specifications.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, controls, PLC, engine, generator issues during startup and commissioning.
Coordinate daily commissioning activities with project teams, construction, operations, and field service.
