Job summary

Carolina CAT in Charlotte, NC is seeking a skilled field technician to prep and maintain a rental fleet of generators, air compressors, load banks, and related equipment. You will work both in the shop and in the field to set up, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.

The role requires five years of experience with Caterpillar power systems, a clean driving record, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years experience with Caterpillar or competitor's power generation systems.
• Clean driving record and a current driver's license.
• Basic computer skills and good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be able to comprehend, speak and write English.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting operational failures of generator sets and related equipment.
• Installation and commissioning of new units.
• Major and minor repairs to engines, generators or components.
• Mentor other technicians.
• Safely drive a service vehicle.
• Document all work and repairs clearly and promptly.
• Knowledgable about operation and maintenance of air compressors.
