Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic for on-site work in Charlotte, NC. This role focuses on diagnosing and completing less complex repairs on generators and components at customer sites, with relocation support and a sign-on bonus for external candidates.

The position emphasizes hands-on electrical and mechanical repair, troubleshooting, and maintaining service records while adhering to safety policies and participating in ongoing certifications.

Qualifications

• Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
• High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
• Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.
• Basic Diesel Engine experience.
• Proficient troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components.
• Able to perform repairs on ATS systems and able to perform commissioning on a new ATS installation.

Responsibilities

• Completing repair activities on generators or components.
• Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools.
• Maintain detailed records of service.
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products.
• Maintain own tools.
