Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a Preventive Maintenance Technician to keep restaurants running safely by performing scheduled maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen systems, and facility components. You’ll inspect, service, and diagnose issues to prevent downtime across multiple locations in your region.

You’ll travel frequently, support 40-45 restaurants, and work roughly 42 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a focus on safety, reliability, and adherence to brand standards.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to travel locally and long distances, including air travel.
• Knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing.
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders/roofs safely.
• EPA 608 certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support an average of 40-45 restaurants.
• Work an average of 42 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, commercial kitchen equipment, beverage stations and facility systems.
• Complete routine maintenance tasks, service calls, and cosmetic repairs to maintain brand standards.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and inspections to identify issues early and escalate as needed.
• Execute and manage assigned maintenance work orders accurately and on time using mobile tech.
• Respond to restaurant maintenance needs to minimize downtime.
• Maintain integrity of electrical, plumbing, and general facility systems.
