Job summary

Divcon seeks a skilled Control Technician to join the field team and support DDC/BAS or PLC project work. You will perform installation verification, database uploads, point-to-point checkout, startup support, and field documentation under the direction of Senior and Lead Technicians.

This role requires regular travel and includes per diem, lodging, and travel accommodations. You will coordinate with subcontractors and trades to ensure proper operation of unitary and basic HVAC systems while

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with field device wiring, controller I/O, point-to-point checkout, basic networking, QA/QC documentation.
Experience in active construction environments and communicating with technicians, PMs, trades, contractors, or customers is preferred.
Experience with Niagara, BACnet, Modbus, or comparable controls platforms/protocols is preferred.

Responsibilities

Start up, commission, and re-commission customer systems that utilize DDC or PLC technology.
Troubleshoot systems and coordinate with subcontractors to resolve issues and ensure proper operation.
Verify field installation against drawings, schedules, and project documentation; flag discrepancies to Supervisor.
Provide turnkey project delivery on specific site systems (VAV/FPB/FCU; AHUs; CW/HW).
Perform verification checks per L2–L4 and support L5 IST commissioning for data centers.
Document work daily in QC forms and commissioning documents; log deficiencies and address conflicts.
Maintain familiarity with AEC/construction processes and submittals.
